Medway Rugby Football Club operates a strict ‘No Pay – No Play’ policy.

Additionally, here are some reminders as to the benefits of Club membership and some examples of how your fees are spent (the list is not exhaustive):

 

  • Medway Rugby Football Club was established in 1931. Membership and playing fees are integral in maintaining the fine tradition that is our Club
  • Paying your membership makes you a ‘member’ of Medway Rugby Football Club
  • Members are shareholders and have voting rights at the Club’s AGM – our members are the ‘Club’
  • Our members can play, watch, coach and/or referee – enjoying rugby at all levels
  • Members benefit from qualified coaches and referees who share their knowledge freely
  • If you want to become a coach or referee then your qualifications are paid for
  • The Club hosts regular ‘Coaching the Coaches’ sessions
  • The Club pays Kent RFU referee’s expenses so that we can play and enjoy our rugby
  • Entry to various festivals and competitions
  • Players (including the opposition), coaches and referees receive free food after their matches
  • Members benefit from an army of volunteers whose time is given freely to keep the Club running
  • A warm and welcoming Clubhouse with a subsidised bar and a kitchen supplying quality food to purchase
  • Wages for bar, kitchen and cleaning staff
  • Capital costs of the Clubhouse and veranda upgrade, and floodlights
  • Hire of Clubhouse and Facilities at preferential rates
  • Large screen Sky TV and wireless broadband
  • Four great pitches, two under floodlights, and great player and playing facilities as well as playing and training equipment
  • Pitch maintenance including seed, fertiliser and tractor diesel
  • Fantastic volunteer ground staff
  • Playing kit washed and ready match day for all our senior men and ladies sides
  • Five senior men’s sides and a ladies team. Mixed mini rugby from under U5’s through to U11’s.  Youth girl’s sides of under 13’s (U11’s-U13’s merged), Under 15 (U15’s-U16’s merged) and under 18’s (U17’s-U18’s merged).  Youth boys sides from U12’s through to U17’s
  • We also have a thriving touch rugby scene
  • RFU compulsory player registration, including player’s personal accident insurance, amongst others, all included
  • Club Physiotherapist for advice and treatment
  • First Aid kits for all our teams
  • A fantastic Club Shop where you can purchase all your rugby kit at reduced prices
  • Legal representation at RFU disciplinary hearings
  • A unique opportunity to purchase international tickets
  • Reduced prices available through our Club Partnership with Saracens (Saracens home matches)
  • End of season presentation awards and tropies
