MRFC announce the passing of our much loved Honorary Vice President and Groundsman Mel Collins. Mel was
preparing the pitches for the Army rugby match this morning when he collapsed. The army team medics, followed by the paramedics, attended but sadly Mel passed away.

With the families blessing the match went ahead with a minutes silence in his honour and a Fijian prayer sung after the game. A hugely loved and respected former player, Sponsor, Vice President and Groundsman who gave so much to Medway Rugby Club. We will all miss him terribly.
